ABOUT

A WIDE RANGE OF PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS

In 1981, Alf Gold, founded AG Products. During many years in the printing business, he had always been impressed when visiting salesman had presented him with a business gift. When circumstances changed for him, it seemed to be the natural sector to move into. In those days, the range of promotional products was very limited, but then, as now, printed advertising pens were the biggest seller.

His older son Chris, soon joined him in the business and Steve became part of the AG Products in 1991. Since these times, the company has been involved in selling quality promotional merchandise throughout all business sectors, with clients in Banbury, across Oxfordshire, in neighbouring counties, but also across the whole of the UK.

Over this time, it has been the company ethos, to supply promotional products which are of good quality, are cost-effective and are innovative. This will involve discussing with the client what the current need is, what is the target audience, what is the budget, and when they are needed for—all important questions to allow me to come up with a short list of great ideas for the correct advertising product. The aim is to make the very best use of the client’s precious marketing budget.

It is worth the effort to do the groundwork, since many of the orders that come our way are the same product, repeated over and over.

For the last ten years, the company has also focussed on Road Safety products: promotional items that can be used with all ages to help reinforce a particular message or campaign. Customers, including many Road Safety Officers, have bought branded pens, pencils, bags, water bottles, lights, fridge magnets and a whole host of other products. AG Products has worked with councils from the very north of Scotland, to the southwest of England, helping them promote important Road Safety education.

As of January 2020, Steve has taken sole ownership of AG Products, as Chris continues with his own company, selling, as he has for many years, high quality wire blazer badges.

"Steve (at AG Products) is always a pleasure to deal with, and has never let me down during our 4 year working relationship. The products I have received are of excellent quality, certainly meeting and occasionally exceeding the quality I have come to expect. I have absolutely no need to ‘shop around’ for my corporate goodies, as I know Steve will always come through with the right ideas and the right goods, always delivered within the timescales I have asked for."

MEET STEVE

Steve’s interests lay in supporting Watford FC, photography, politics, astronomy and quantum physics (of which he knows very little and understands even less). He is married to Jill and they have two cats.

Did you see the badge I am wearing in my photo? I love to go business networking and I am involved in several local groups. In 2017, I made an important decision to join my local BNI breakfast ‘chapter’ and I haven’t looked back since – I am proud to wear the BNI badge.

The principle of BNI is that there is a group of business folk who meet regularly each week, and who are dedicated to finding business referalls for each other. We get to know one another extremely well, in 1-2-1 meetings, so that we are ready to react to opportunities for our fellow members, to do business as they arise.

By personally recommending and introducing the person who has a business or personal need, to the appropriate member, it is an extremely effective way to do business. I personally do very well out of being part of BNI and it makes real financial sense to continue being part of the group.

We have just one representative from each profession and we are always looking to grow our membership. So if your trade or professional ‘seat’ hasn’t already be taken, and you are fairly local to Banbury, why not check it out by asking me? You will be warmly welcomed as a visitor.
